We engage local communities early in the project, explaining the vision, benefits, and responsibilities. Through social contracting, community members commit to supporting and safeguarding the forest. This builds ownership, ensures cultural alignment, and fosters local stewardship.
Before planting, we prepare the site by clearing invasive species, enriching the soil, setting up planting lines or pits, and sourcing the right indigenous or climate-adapted seedlings. Preparations also include training community members on planting and maintenance techniques.
In the months following planting, we fill any “gaps” where seedlings have failed to establish (due to pests, drought, or other challenges). Continuous monitoring tracks tree survival rates, forest health, and biodiversity recovery.
We measure the project’s impact against set targets, ensure transparency to donors and communities, and document lessons learned. This process helps us improve future projects and maintain accountability to all stakeholders.
